If you are part of a church or any kind of faith gathering, or you know someone who is, we would love to get this to the hands of the leaders or organisers to consider signing up. It’s super simple, every church takes responsibility for one item off the list, collects that item as a group in various ways and on the 25th we as One whole church across Australia share One Single Act of Compassion to change the story.
Is our church or gathering the right kind? We might be too small, too busy, too far away, too involved already?
We have all kinds of communities from Home church gatherings to Hillsong. You can make it a big event campaign or just place a simple collection point in a common area. Or anything in between.
Who is it run by.
“A Collaborative effort of many different denominations, about 9 so far. Supported by Bible society, Koorong, Micah Australia and many others, initiated by a pastor of a small community church Tara Conradt in Perth and the ACC community Engagament Department In WA
Who is the donations going to?
Reputable established Refugee and Asylum seeker services and support agencies across Australia. Local collection will go to closest group on the list. See this page for details.
What happens after the 25th?
Drop off points will be advised during the final week (as storage allocations will depend on each areas response). If possible a volunteer from each church can drop off, or collaborate with other near by churches to deliver. If unable to get items to the drop off, contact us and we can assist in making arrangements.
Can I take part as an individual?
Whether you are a person of faith or not, attend a gathering or not, we understand that many people desire to see refugees welcomed in our nation. You can donate to the campaign which will assist transport, storage and other logistical efforts. You can also find a local collection by posting on the page to ask if there is a collection near you and contribute there.
